WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO PLAY SOFTBALL?

Girls ages of 8 through 18 (as of December 31, 2007) who live in the Madison West, Madison Memorial and Middleton-Cross Plains high school attendance areas can play in our league. Unless an area exception is made by the Board of Directors, the player must satisfy both provisions to be eligible. National Little League rules allow participation in only one Little League program at a time.

WHAT IS THE PLAYING LEAGUE STRUCTURE?

Senior League -- 13, 14, 15 and 16 year-olds
Super Senior (Big) League -- 14, 15, 16, 17, and 18 year-olds

WHEN ARE GAMES PLAYED?

Season play begins in mid-May and concludes by the end of July. Each team will have practices, as well.

HOW DO YOU REGISTER?

Registration may be done by mail. If you have played at WMLL before, you should receive a registration packet in the mail in early January.  Forms will also be available to download from this website in early January.  Mail-in registration forms along with fees should be sent to:

WMLL Softball
P.O. Box 5177
Madison, WI 53705

Everyone who plans to play at WMLL in 2008 must submit a completed registration form. Registration deadline is
March 1 to be guaranteed a spot on a team.  Registrations will be accepted after March 1, but players may be placed on a waiting list if leagues are already full.

CAN YOU REQUEST TO BE ON A TEAM WITH A SIBLING OR FRIEND?

Players from the same family will be placed on the same team if the individuals are in the same league. However, parents may request that siblings be placed on different teams. For 2008, you may request to be placed on a team with one friend at the minor league level only (8, 9, and 10 year olds). Each player MUST indicate the friend they wish to play with on their registration form.

WHAT DOES IT COST TO PLAY AT WMLL?

The fee for each player is $150 if your registration is postmarked by Feb 9, 2008 ($165 if postmarked after Feb 9).  The fee covers: field rental and maintenance, umpire costs, hats, shirts, pants, socks, equipment, and other program costs.  All fees must accompany the application, with your check as your receipt. Scholarships are available for those players eligible for free or reduced lunch at their school. Details are on the registration form.
